If you have your own mobility scooter or electric powered wheelchair one of the best places to explore is the Heritage Time Trail. The most suitable car park is Lower Shawfield which has gaps in the post-and-rail timber fence that are wide enough to pass through onto Chippendale Ride.
Surprise View has a wheelchair access ramp that allows wheelchairs up to experience this fantastic viewpoint over the lower Wharfe Valley. Scooters and powered wheelchairs can also go east along this ridge path for about 400 metres but will have to return the same way.
Leeds City Council have 3 mobility scooters that can be used free-of-charge on weekdays between May and September on 2 specific routes from The White House. There is also a vehicle available called the Rural Pursuit Vehicle which can accommodate a wheelchair and extra person (who can do the driving).
