Rock climbing & bouldering

Caley Crags is an important and much valued site both locally and nationally, offering a range of difficulty levels. Many boulders and climbs have been given names such as Sugar Loaf, High Noon, Roof of the World and Tipling Crack. To find out more it is worth getting a copy of the Yorkshire Mountaineering Club’s Yorkshire Gritstone Guidebook.

Activities such as climbing are not recommended for those without the necessary experience. There are a number of local climbing clubs that you should contact if you are new to the sport.
